Dick was a true child prodigy on the violin, winning fiddle
and violin contests up and down the state of California. He lost
interest in the instrument in his later teen years, but after a
successful career in law enforcement he picked it up again in
his forties and remains very active in the music scene. He lives
with his wife Letha Dulaney in Leakey, Texas.
He is a founding member of the Summer Church band, and at
present he is performing with the Wedgwood, a folk-gospel group
based out of California. With Wedgwood he has toured throughout
the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
As a member of the country music band Geronimo Trevino III he
has opened for Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Asleep at the Wheel
and Ray Price as well as performing in major country music
venues in Texas.
Dick also plays classical violin and performed for years as a
member of professional symphony orchestras in California.
He continues his activities in classical music with violinist
Cathy Learoyd in the violin duo
SpiritSand, soon to release
their first recording.
Dick is a committed Christian musician and artist. He teaches
fiddle and violin at his studio provided by the First United
Methodist Church in Kerrville, Texas, and at his home studio in
Leakey, Texas.
